But, it is not just accommodation, travelling with pets can be equally challenging \u2014 not anymore as Akasa Air, India\u2019s new scheduled airline, will allow the carrying of domesticated cats and dogs onboard (along with passengers) from next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDomesticated dogs and cats can travel from November and the bookings in this regard will start from October 15,\u201d Belson Coutinho, co-founder, chief marketing and experience Officer said, reported\u00a0<em>PTI<\/em>. It should also be secure so that the pet doesn\u2019t escape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*If your pet is smaller in size and allowed in the cabin, they may need to be adequately sedated which can be sourced from your vet, so that they don\u2019t cause a nuisance to other passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Make sure they have light meals before travel and have access to water if they\u2019re in cargo (some ice cubes can be put in the water tray).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Make sure your pet is fully vaccinated and you\u2019re carrying all vaccination certificates. Follow all the protocols suggested by the airline and your trusted vet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Avoid travelling with short-nosed breeds or brachycephalic, snub-nosed breeds like&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/lifestyle\/health\/study-advises-people-stop-buying-pugs-english-french-bull-dogs-until-breeding-issues-are-addressed-7972677\/\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pugs<\/a><\/strong>, Shih Tzus, or punch-faced Persian cats. They should not be put in cargo as they\u2019re more prone to respiratory distress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Don\u2019t travel with a pet that has any underlying cardiac or respiratory issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*When you arrive at your destination, open your pet\u2019s crate as soon as possible and check to see if your pet is safe.
